The waterways of the North Country of New Hampshire and Vermont are a fisherman's heaven - the best New England has to offer. The numerous lakes, ponds and rivers offer a challenge to the seasoned angler and excitement to the novice.
There is an outstanding variety of species of trout in our waters, as well as landlocked salmon, bass and pike.

North Country Chamber Fishing Derby
New Hampshire and Vermont both offer a Free Fishing Day.
This is done to allow people to explore the sport and enjoy this relaxing hobby.
New Hampshire offers a free fishing day on the first Saturday of each June.
Vermont is traditionally on the second Saturday of June.
Held in Conjunction with New Hampshire's Free Fishing Day, The North Country Chamber of Commerce holds a Fishing Derby on the Connecticut Lakes in Pittsburg to help introduce young and old to the sport, by adding encouragement with trophies and prizes for the contestants.
While not much can be compared to the exhilaration of landing a trophy fish, don't forget that you'll be fishing in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in New England, with the chance of viewing some of our abundant wildlife in their natural habitat...
You owe it to yourself to visit the North Country of New Hampshire and Vermont. Wet a line and experience fishing as you've never experienced it before!
