Enjoy the serenity of Vermont as you gaze across Lake Wallace to view Canada then take in Festive Weekend events in a neighboring town. Within ten miles of our motel on Friday nights from November 30 to December 21 you can watch the lighting up of the town’s Christmas tree, be serenaded by a brass quartet and carolers, and warm up at the Twinkle tent for pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Moose. You will also get to visit Santa, take a hay wagon ride down main street, or help the elves at Santa’s workshop. Local businesses will have specials to help you with your shopping or buy a local crafted item. And don’t forget to cut your own Christmas tree at one of the neighboring tree farms. Pure Country Motel and Cabins, LLC is situated on Vermont Rte. 114, 4.5 miles east of Canaan Village, 9 miles west of Norton. Beautiful Lake Wallace (international waters) rests to the north of our front door and the Connecticut River bounds the east side of Canaan Village.

Sit back and relax in the privacy of one of our three fully-furnished cabins overlooking Lake Wallace. With either two or three bedrooms, the cabins accommodate sleeping for 6-8 people in a setting only the North Country can provide. If efficiency is what you seek, our housekeeping units with a cook-top stove and full-size refrigerator will make your extended stay more affordable. The fully stocked kitchen provides the comforts of home and the rooms accommodate sleeping for 2-4 people. Our motel rooms offer sleeping comfort with two double beds to accommodate sleeping for 2-4 people. Each unit comes equipped with Satellite Dish Network and all the necessities to make your stay relaxing The apartment sleeps 4-6 people.

We offer some of the best snowmobiling in the Northeast with the trail starting right at your front door! Connectors are available to New Hampshire and Canada so you can spend countless hours riding and enjoying the scenic beauty while gliding comfortably along groomed trails. If you are not a snowmobile enthusiast, come and enjoy some of the best hard-water trout fishing on Big Averill, Little Averill and Lake Wallace. Norton Pond also offers some of the largest northern pike in the state. We are also situated within an hour's drive of The Balsams 4-star Ski Resort in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire and Burke Mountain in Burke, Vermont. Reservations/Cancellations Reservations accepted with most major credit cards. Cancellations must be received five days prior to reservation date or we will require half of the amount due. A two-night minimum stay is required from Dec. 15th thru April 15th and from June 15th thru Sept. 15th. Be sure to visit our newly expanded convenience store and Vt. State Liquor Outlet. How To Find Us: From I-91, take exit 23 in Lyndonville, VT. and travel approx. 1 hour north on Vt. Rte. 114 through Island Pond and Norton. From I-93, take the 'Twin Mountain' exit and travel approx. 1 hour north on Rte. 3 through Lancaster, Groveton and Colebrook. Stay north on Rt. 3 and take a left from Rte. 3 in West Stewartstown onto Vt. Rte. 114 and travel 5 miles west.
